RUM AND RAISIN TRUFFLES – A FATHERS DAY TREAT

Rum and Raisin Truffles for a Fathers Day Treat

It was a burning question…

What to buy for Fathers Day to give someone who is impossible to buy for?  Well rum and raisin chocolate is pretty much the favourite so I thought ‘Rum and Raisin Truffles For a Fathers Day Treat’ might just do the trick.

A Special Treat – Rum and Raisin Truffles

I’m not goung to sugar coat this (well literally I am) – these truffles are a treat. The only thing healthy about them is the raisins. The rest, you can pretty much get your blood sugar testing kit out now because your levels are going to hit the roof if you have too many of these.  But everything in moderation right?  Right. So give these as a special treat that is special because the truffles taste beautiful and because they are homemade with love.

These are small morsels of chocolatey, rum flavoured (with real rum I might add) yumminess.  You won’t go wrong if you present these to someone special.  They are a tried and true family recipe that has stood the test of time and I love making and giving them.

So, So Simple and Great for Christmas

I made these truffles in less than half and hour and with only 6 easy to store ingredients. They are super easy to throw together. Just blitz the biscuits to form crumbs in the food processor then combine with the rest of the ingredients. Then with wet hands roll small balls of the mixture then roll in coconut. Chill until firm then present them in a small box lined with tissue paper.  It went over really well in my house.  The next time I will be making them will be Christmas – they are also the perfect Yultide treat!

What did you give for Fathers Day in your house? Would you try Rum and Raisin Truffles – a Fathers Day Treat or even make them next Christmas?
