No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls

Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls

Nut Free, High Fibre, High Energy Deliciousness

The inspiration for this post comes from my teen daughter who, in her final year of high school and doing her final practical exam for food technology, had to develop a line extension of a commercial product. She is super health conscious so after some considerable research of what is out there in the health food market and after surveying anyone who would answer her questions she came up with two variations of No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls. And they are yum! Basically, I could sit back and let her do all the ground work so I can happily add the recipe to my site!

No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls – So Good!

The feedback from everyone who tasted the No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls was overwhelmingly positive so I can recommend them on good authority. The best part about them is that they are so quick to make and that they are a completely no bake recipe. But really the most obvious highlight about them is how GOOD they are for you! Full of fibre, protein and vitamins and minerals they make a really healthy alternative to chocolate brownie or cake which you all know I am so partial to. I like these because they are just so satisfying. Just one with a cup of tea or coffee or to give you energy when you are in that energy funk of the afternoon.

But more of the benefits…

In these No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls you use Medjool dates as a base – they are full of fibre, B vitamins, potassium, manganese and calcium. Just on their own Medjool dates are power packed with goodness. Then there is tahini which is full of protein and is so full of all things wonderful like antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Tahini is anti inflammatory, protects your liver and kidney function as well as having a host of other benefits. Cacao is also a super food supporting gut health because it is high in fibre. It also contains protein and potassium which is good for muscle function and neurological function. It is deliciously chocolatey. And it makes you. happy which explains why my daughter’s teacher loved them so much (apart from the fact that they taste amazing).

My daughter actually made two variations of the No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls. One was cacao, tahini, blueberry and coconut and the other was cacao, tahini, blueberry and oats. I loved both but overall the one with oats came out in front. I have included instructions for both because it is easy to make them at the same time and just make the variation. My daughter made these on the weekend and enjoyed them for school recess every day.

So treat yourself and your health to a beautiful snack that is well researched and proven to taste great with wonderful health benefits –No Bake Cacao and Tahini Protein Balls. I hope you love them!
