Smoked Salmon on Rye

Delicious, melt in your mouth smoked salmon with a delectable cream cheese flavoured with herbs. Pair this with homebaked rye sourdough and I'm in heaven!

  • 200 g smoked salmon
  • 250 g spreadable cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 4 tbsp chopped dill
  • 1/2 jar capers drained
  • 1/2- 1 tsp horseradish cream optional
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • A few sprigs dill to serve
  • 1 tsp capers to serve
  • 1 loaf the best rye bread you can find, preferrably home baked.


  1. Combine cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, a little horseradish, dill and capers. Add cracked pepper and a little salt. Spread on slices of rye. Top with a slice of smoked salmon and dress with dill and a couple of capers. Squeeze a little lemon juice on top of each round.
